SPINACH AND CHEESE PULL APART BREAD
Ingredients
Directions
Combine flour, salt and fresh chopped spinach to a clean mixing pan.
Add yeast to warm buttermilk and honey and mix, let mixture sit for 5 mins or until foamy.
Once mixture is foamy ,add to the dry ingredients and make a soft dough (adding the olive oil as the dough mixes)
Allow dough to rest in a greased pan, covered and in a warm place for 30 mins or until double in size.
Once dough has risen, remove from warm place and knead for about 5 mins on a floured surface by hand.
Divide dough into small pieces (they don't have to be the same size).
Roll each piece until thin, place a cheese slice onto the rolled dough and then make a ball.
Place each ball on a parchment lined bake ware, leaving a small space for them to do some further rising.
Make an interesting shape with the dough balls, then allow to rise one last time.
Pre heat the oven to 375 degrees.
Once the oven is heated, baste rolls with buttermilk and fresh grated cheese then place on the middle rack and bake for 25 mins or until golden brown on top.
Don't open the oven before the 15 min mark, it might cause the rolls to drop their shape.
After 15 min check with a toothpick and once it comes out clean the rolls are ready.
Remove from oven and baste with the butter and more fresh grated cheese.
Let bread cool a bit before serving to family and friends.
It freezes well too, so great for making ahead and heating up when needed.
